Grand Teton National Park is one of my all-time favorite spots to take photos, and with great reason! Whether you’re looking for a great spot to get engaged, to elope, for a private vow ceremony, or for an intimate micro wedding, here are my top 5 reasons to choose to get married in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.

1. Stunning mountain views abound when you get married in Grand Teton National Park

Seriously, the views in the Tetons are absolutely breathtaking! The Teton Range is a fault-block range, with vertical movement on the fault creating the iconic dramatic peaks with glacial valleys in between.

2. Magical sunsets

The sun sets behind the Tetons, meaning absolutely magical golden hour light around sunset, which makes for some dreamy sunset photoshoots!

3. Dramatic weather and skies

I love taking photos in stormy weather. Talk about dramatic backdrops! The weather can change quickly here in the Tetons, so if you’re planning to get married in Grand Teton National Park, be prepared to be flexible (and bring an umbrella!).

I always feel like we’re connecting with nature on a deeper level during photoshoots like these! It’s so fun to be out in the elements.

4. Grand Teton National Park has a variety of great venues for intimate weddings and elopements

A few fan-favorite venues for couples getting married in Grand Teton National Park include Schwabacher Landing, Chapel of the Transfiguration, the Moulton Barn at Mormon Row, and Jackson Lake Lodge. These are amazing places for weddings with fewer than 40 people total – perfect for micro weddings, elopements, and intimate ceremonies.

Because Grand Teton is an outdoor, rustic, natural environment where the priorities include protecting the park’s resources and allowing all visitors to enjoy the park, only small, simple, rustic, and undecorated ceremonies are permitted.

For more information about venues and permits, visit Grand Teton National Park’s Weddings & Commitment Ceremonies page here.

5. Getting married in Grand Teton National Park is gorgeous in all seasons!

We get all four seasons in the Jackson Hole area, and all four are incredible! From snowy peaks in the winter, to bright green leaves in the spring, to wildflowers in the summer, and incredible foliage in the fall – Grand Teton National Park has it all.

Summer is typically peak wedding season in the Tetons, with many couples deciding to get married in the Tetons during the warmer months. However, winters are quieter and really beautiful! Although parts of the Park are closed to vehicles in the winter, there are still plenty of options. And finally, its proximity to Jackson, Wyoming and all of Jackson’s amenities close by makes Grand Teton National Park a great destination in general. From whitewater rafting, skiing, and epic hikes to Western charm, art galleries, and fantastic food, you and your guests will have plenty to do in this area (not to mention Yellowstone National Park, just to our north!). Moose, bison, elk, bears, deer, foxes, marmots, and more are common sights in the Tetons, too!
