I love getting to know the personalities of couples whom I have the privilege of photographing. Lisa and Drew appear to be polar opposites. Lisa is outgoing and bubbly, while Drew is much more reserved. They met during their high school years while volunteering together at the local hospital. Lisa confided that she was fairly convinced that Drew found her annoying, and that there was really no relationship at all. Ten years later a mutual friend set them up on a date and they have been inseparable ever since! From mountain biking, to running, to skiing, they share an enthusiasm for the outdoors and knew that they wanted their wedding to reflect that.
Lisa and Drew had a sweet elopement on Top of Grand Targhee. They both love to ski and thought getting married on top of the mountain, just the two of them, was the perfect setting. We were very fortunate that the weather cooperated with the dissipation of the fog that just a few hours earlier was so dense on top that you couldn’t even see 2 chairlifts in front of you. Providence was truly on the side of this wonderful couple as the trail to the ceremony location was opened only a couple hours prior to the them saying “I do!” It was fun to shoot up on the mountain where they had a champagne toast and chocolate strawberries, and then to descend the to the lush grass.
Lisa and Drew, it was wonderful to meet you and photograph the beginning of your greatest adventure together. You both are so kind and fun to be around. Your love for each other, and the mountains, will bring you on so many fun adventures through the course of your life together. I loved seeing your wedding day represent just that!
